Our dog had gotten into a scrap with another dog and ended up at the vets for stitches. Just when you thought you were fresh out of ideas for amusing the children on a rainy afternoon, here we have got an idea that will remain them entertained for hours. I discovered this one only by chance. Really, it was my daughter who came up with this one. We thought it would be firm to maintain her from removing the defensive cover, since it was solid plastic, awkward and unknown. The vet prepared our dog with one of those big plastic hoods that vigorous around her neck, to stop her from biting at the stitches. Au contraire! She determined this hood was a fashion item, prancing around as although she was the cat’s meow in terms of special attire. She utterly loved this hood.
This stimulated a round of dog dress up games that went on for years. My daughter felt that our family pet seemed a bit deflated without her fancy vet’s garb after the wound had healed and the hood was no longer needed. I came in to call Gabriella for lunch and set up her and our style aware dog, going through my daughter’s closet, doll bonnets, grabbing knit caps, elasticized skirts, outgrown and t-shirts. The skirts were pulled on over her hind legs, t-shirts squeezed over her head and fitted throughout her front legs and frilly bonnets tied around her chin. Never mind that our dog was an average sized German Shepherd. The dog dress up games was on and our stupid dog loved each minute of it! She would wear the clothes for hours; awaiting Gabriella determined a new-fangled outfit was in order. If allowed this comical dog would eat, drink and sleep in the clothes.
When Gabriella jumped into bed, this ridiculous dog was in fact all worn out with the dog dress up games, jumping on the bed for a good night’s sleep. If they went exterior to play, Miss Silly would happily roll around in the grass in her clothes, playing the dog dress up game to the hilt. Still, at bedtime, the clothes went into the laundry basket as Gabriella ready for her bath. Thank goodness for laundry stain removal products! Oh, such fun for an imaginative child and her funny dog. I can not assurance that all dog will take pleasure in the dog dress up games with the equal eagerness, but having increase the word with other neighbors with kids and dogs, I make out for a fact that a great several do enjoy this past time, a perhaps unconventional kid’s game, but a winner with willing dog participants. Our family photo album stands witness to a giggling kid and her enthusiastic, happy compatriot.
